"This 70-page, square-shaped magazine is filled with great work by many artists I don't know, but the cover is definitely by Jesse LeDoux — a staple in the illustration world. Features include art from all over the globe, a 10" record and a DVD with skaters from Habitat and Alien Workshop. It's a nice sampler.
"This EP-sized issue includes 70 pages of art and interviews with such artists as Attaboy, Angel D'Amico, Patrick Rochaa, UPSO and P. Williams, just to name a few. With a running theme as "The Outbreak b/w The Break Out," the artists were asked to keep with the tradition of sides, creating artwork, not as spreads, but instead as two separate pieces, not unlike the two sides of a record. The key to Exit Strategy is its commercial-free aesthetic and limited edition "White Label" run of 100 copies packed full with stickers, a record and inserts. I was just lucky enough to receive one of the 500 standard editions and that's just fine with me!"

"I appreciate the production value of the piece... and although the interior is all black and white, it comes through crisp and with good contrast. (At) $13... which for something of this size and quality seems reasonable... is worth a look."
"I love magazines, reading, art. And I just want to make something better than I did before. I'm a little crazy, too, that doesn't hurt." In-depth with ES creator Aaron Winters. Read More...
Burgeoning Sacramento artist Winters, who heads up the Abide Visuals camp that published last year's notable collections of drawrings by Jay Howell, has launched a by-artists for-artists publication that fits in an LP jacket. The print runs are free of advertising and limited in quantity, and Winters hopes it will some day rival Arkitip. Read More...
Exit Strategy has already attracted people from as far as Oregon and Canada to contribute to the next edition. "I don't really have a problem getting the next one done," Winters says. Read more...
Some might see it as a ticket outta this town - indeed, the magazine's very name suggests such a thing. But, insists the founder of Exit Strategy, the new publication is more about blurring the lines between Sacramento and the rest of the world. Read more...
Remember when you would go through your dad's or older brother's stack of dusty LP's, flipping through the elaborate '70s album jackets and sleeves? Triple foldouts, glossy 12-inch booklets, page after page of mind-blowing artwork, so complete it made the record itself almost ... irrelevant? Read more...
